Context

SAJ MP offers robust automations to drive greater productivity and efficiency. It collaborates to make the processing of cases more agile and it is integrated with the Courts of Justice, including Electoral Courts.

It is a solution to bring the Public Prosecutor's Office closer to society through transparent action, reduce bureaucratic activities, guarantee the documents security and generate savings in resources.

My Role

As the Lead Designer for the SAJ MP team, I took on the responsibility of coordinating and guiding fellow designers while actively contributing to the strategic decision-making process.

Being the first UX Designer to join the team, I seized the opportunity to make a significant impact. By delivering high-value features that got us exceptional feedback and elevated our score points, I effectively demonstrated the important role of UX in shaping the system's success. This achievement not only solidified the importance of user experience within the team but also established a strong foundation for future design initiatives.

Project Process

Proceedings Search

Overview: The search feature is used every day but it wasn't clear to the users. Numerous support tickets were open highlighting challenges with the feature, leading to a decline in Net Promoter Score (NPS). Despite being a medium development effort, the feature promises high deliverable value.

1.Discovery

In the discovery phase, I collaborated extensively with the business team to discern our primary goals and engaged with the development team to identify potential challenges and opportunities (green and red lights). Subsequently, I initiated user researches to consolidate and connect the data, establishing a robust foundation before commencing the prototype phase.

2.Sketches and ideas

Following the validation of my findings, I commenced the ideation process, sketching various concepts to iterate on potential solutions for the identified problem. Additionally, I embarked on the creation of new user flows, aiming to streamline and enhance user comprehension of their journey. This included a focus on refining the information architecture to optimize the overall user experience.

3.High-fidelity prototype

While working on the prototype, I recognized the necessity for a style guide, particularly since it was the first HTML/Delphi hybrid. I harmonized these distinct styles to ensure their cohesive coexistence. Additionally, the prototypes played a dual role, serving as a pivotal component in the user testing phase.

3.User validation and Go live

We conducted usability testing with 5 users to validate and gather feedback. Two were detractors, while three were neutral. The testing confirmed that we were on the right track, as all users expressed enthusiasm for the new solution and encountered no issues understanding the updated layout and user flow. After that, we proceeded with the dev flow, until the go live. The Go live proved to be a great success and we received lots of good feedback.
